I’ve not seen the film – there may be more life brought to it – particularly with that cast, but the reviews suggest not. Patchy – a missed opportunity. It’s less stuffy, less long-winded, than it coknselor in No Country for Old Men —and the “nothing new under the sun” attitude rings much truer than, and is a direct contradiction of, the earlier book’s reactionary lament on Changing Times—but it still stiffens things up on the page, and on the screen it must have been deadly.
Hell, even two large cats make an appearance.

A more appropriate name would be Ignorance. Even after giving mcarthy two thorough readings I’m still lost on a few points that are never filled out in the screenplay itself.
The Counselor is classic McCarthy with his magnificent spartan use of language and ability to take his reader into the heart of every scene. Cormac McCarthy is an American novelist and playwright.
I think he writes incredibly beautiful things. All in all I prefer to go back to the old author, sscreenplay he was convinced by Ridley Scott.
